Six Podcast For Women With Serious Goals

I’ve always been thirsty for knowledge & enjoy learning.

As an adult, I find that I have to really push myself to learn new skills and acquire thought-provoking experiences. Back in the day, I used to love reading a good book but now I can’t find the time. I’ve literally looked everywhere and cannot find the time. With that in mind, e-courses are out of the question as well as evening or weekend classes.

But to satisfy my quest for learning I’ve turned to podcasts. I absolutely love podcasts mainly because its regular people like you and I sharing their area of expertise with the masses for free. Some of the advice I learned from podcasts had me ready to send the host a consulting fee. The best thing about a podcast is that there is a show for every niche.

As a blogger, I’m constantly looking for content within my areas of focus and as a woman, I’m constantly looking for ways to grow as an entrepreneur, wife, and mom. I listen to hundreds of podcasts but ....

Here are the top six podcasts for women with serious goals.

Hashtags + Stilettos is a podcast hosted by Sakita Holley. Sakita Holley’s is the founder of a New York-based Public Relations firm and her podcast focuses on career and life advice. She provides content through stellar interviews with entrepreneurs and dynamic influencers who are willing to share their stories on how they aspired to success.

The Art of Likability with Arel Moodie

The Art of Likability is my most favorite podcast. I often listen to it in the gym during my cardio session and after Arel stops talking I’m done working out. Arel has a background in sells and he shares how those qualities can translate into many facets of your life that can garner success. For example, if you’re not a person that is great at networking he offers ways to shift your fears and get over your anxiety of talking to strangers. After listening to a few episodes, you will definitely be ready to leave your comfort zone.

The Clever Girl Finance Podcast

The Clever Girl Finance Podcast is the offspring of the Clever Girl Finance blog created by Bola Onada Sokunb and is a Certified Financial Education Instructor, which means she isn’t making stuff up. Bola shares her knowledge in a fun, easy and palatable way. She pushes you to set financial goals and be more mindful of your money as well as keep you accountable. The only downside is that she doesn’t like you spending money frivolously; which means you’ll have to delete your Amazon Prime app.  Fun fact: in 2017, I was featured on the CGF blog and was given the opportunity to share how I saved $25,000 in cold, hard cash in a year.  Thanks, Bola!

The Side Hustle Pro

If you are anything like me, you’re always trying to figure out how to monetize all aspects of your life. If I could charge my husband and toddler for meals I totally would.  Nicaila Okome is the creator and host of The Side Hustle Pro and purports to be the first and only podcast to spotlight bold, black women entrepreneurs who have scaled from side hustle to full-time entrepreneurs. I love listening to the different interviews and pieces of advice. At the end of each episode, I always learn so much from others that are further along in the journey.

My Taught You Podcast

Myleik Teele is the brain behind CurlBOX, the first ever subscription service for natural, curly hair. I’m sure tons of you receive your monthly box and you thank her profusely for making your life easier and curls bouncier. But when Myleik isn’t identifying the best products for your coifs, she spends some time doling out sage advice on her podcast, My Taught You. Listening to this podcast makes me feel like I have an older sister showing me the way. I think she gives really great advice but sometimes it’s sort of direct and comes off as harsh but we need tough love from time to time. She's unapologetic about the unfiltered advice but you will grow from it.

Millennial Money

My final podcast recommendation is Millennial Money. I just started listening to this podcast a few weeks ago but I’m a fan. The host, Shannah Compton Game, is a Certified Financial Planner Professional and author.  One of my recent favorite episodes is the month by month money to-do list. She walks you through the entire year; providing you with wise ways to use your money from calling your credit card companies and asking for a lower rate to stashing away cash for your summer vacation. I always feel like the Monopolgy guy afterwards.
