2019 The Year of Light

At 18, I got peer pressured into getting a tattoo with my new college friends. I selected an image from a binder of unoriginal tattoos previously etched on another person’s skin. I had about 10 minutes to make a decision so I opted for a sun.

The tattoo was terribly done but to me it symbolized the light of the world. It was a daily reminder to walk in light.

The inking occurred 14 years ago and has since been covered with a new image by an actual professional artist but with the new year in full swing, I’m back to basics. I’ve returned to the light.

I’ve officially declared 2019 The Year of Light and was moved when I read the actual definitions of the word.

The natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. understanding of a problem or mystery; enlightenment. Ignite. Illuminate.

Most importantly I chose “light” as a guiding principle for 2019 because it drives out darkness. While 2018 was a great year for me, it was plagued with heavy issues in my career, in my marriage and with my health.

In 2019. I have the opportunity to create a blaze that radiates.

Happy New Year!
