Three Reasons Why You Should Do a Brain Dump Plus A Free Printable

If you are anything like me, you have constant ideas and “to-do” lists that incessantly pop in your head. Many of them are great but most of them are ideas you’ve thought over and over again but never put any action behind the thought. In addition to those magnificent concepts, you still have the current 2019 goals that you need to complete.

This is all normal, especially if you have an entrepreneur spirit or are simply a go-getter that wants more out of life or just a Virgo. Priorities are important and in order to see some success with small victories its important to dump all of those ideas from inside your head onto paper (or sticky notes) for the sake of clarity.

After you have those ideas free from ruminating in your mind you’ll have space to focus solely on your 2019 goals. Conversely, you can use the ideas you recently dumped for your 2020 goals.

Here are three reasons why you should do a brain dump:

You need to take a step back and re-define your goalS.

During the final few months of the year, you should be more mindful of competing priorities or potential hindrances to your goals. That can include bad habits that steal your time like watching too much TV or scrolling on Instagram for hours. Remember that you created those 2019 goals for a reason. More than likely, they were created for your betterment. You want to see a change in your life! You deserve it and owe it to yourself. The end result is going to make a lasting change in your life.

You can define where are you in your journey.

There’s no doubt that you’ve made strides and that progress is meaningful. By purging your ideas, you can make room to define where you are on your journey. Then you can assess how much further you have to go until you complete your goal before embracing something else. Never forget why you began this journey of goal-setting for 2019.

You can research new avenues for success.

The process is just as important as the final product. Whenever I’m building something I like to make sure that i’m implementing strategies that are replicable. By doing this, I know that I can employ those new skills when the time comes. All of those new ideas that you recently dumped will need to be executed eventually and you’ll want a strong model for success. Be honest with yourself about what’s needed on your end.

As promised, here is your free printable.
